What do i need to wire this dash?

I have a 72 Challenger and i have ALL new wiring harnesses, including aftermarket guages..speedo,water temp, oil pressure, fuel and volt. Each guage has a bulb for illumination with a pos and neg wire.Do i need to combine all these wires into one pigtail and should i wire these bulbs into the dimmer switch…and if so which wire(s)in the dimmer switch should these be connected with. i have 6 bulbs and in the dimmer switch i have 2 yellows,1 brown and 2 blacks.1 black goes into the light switch, the other black into a plug connector.1 yellow goes into the map light the other yellow into another plug-in connector.the brown one goes into the fuse box.can i assume that the positive is the brown and the black that goes into the light switch is the neg?

yes ,if the dash works with ground basis.then the dashboard should have diodes.( not mandatory, but make it long lasting, and safe to sparking)
