Runs fine? Dump a little “dry gas” in the tank just in case, but odds are you don’t have anything to worry about.

you should be fine. if the car is running fine I wouldn’t worry. If it starts driving a little rough they sell this stuff called seafoam (autozone, orieleys, or any good autopart store). read the instructions. that will get whatever water you have in there. oh yeah, wal-mart does sell this stuff called Heet. that removes water too. (allot cheaper than the seafoam. a little over a buck compared to 10).
Good Luck…

If it runs fine, it is doubtful that you got water in your gas. If so, you need a fuel product that contains isopropyl. (Heet in the red bottles is one example) That will help the water mix with the gas and will burn it out of the tank.

What is more likely is that some of your hot engine parts got wet and the smell was similar to the smell of gas.

The biggest danger from driving in deep water is a bent fan or damage to radiator. In addition, getting your starter wet is not a good idea.
