Water for Gas HHO. Does it really increase mileage?
Do these kits actually work?
no – scams.
They were invented back in the 70 and back then it really worked. Cars back then ran very rich to prevent engine knocks. But modern cars run on the hair edge of stoichiometry (perfect air to fuel ratio) – with O2 sensors and knock sensors.
So if you have really old car it might work. But even so, you have to re-jet the carb and advance the timing to get any affect out of water injectors.
Good Luck…
P.S. also consider this – if this stuff really worked, don’t you think that car companies will install them at the factory and advertise the higher gas mileage – sell more cars?
99.9% DON’T WORK AND CAN HURT A ENGINE. The ones that work don’t help with milage more than a couple miles. The water system has been around for a long time. Mechanic used it to clean carbon from the engine. To much water can damage the pitons and cycler walls. Items that help air flow into the engine. Other that pull exhaush out help. The engine run better. A engine that is kept proper running condition will give the best milage. Runinng the proper grade gas or higher will give you better milage. lower grade gas will give you less miles and the engine will not run well.
Nope, not for the modern-day car. You cannot save money by running your car with water. But some clever scammers out there will give you a partial truth just to suck you in…
They tout this system that takes water and generates HHO gas and uses that hydrogen in your engine as a form of fuel. If that is the only criteria you use, then yes, it will save lots of money.
But you have to consider the other costs, too. In order to make the HHO, your car battery has to power a “generator”, that electrolyzes the stuff. And you have to use an electrolyte, that allows the process to take place. The cost of the electrolyzer and the energy from the battery are more costly than the benefit from the hydrogen gas they make. And you have to actually purchase the system, or at least the parts to build one of your own.
There are people out there who want SO BADLY to believe it works, that they will tell you all about the savings. But they will be just as careful not to tell you of the costs.
I am all for the hydrogen economy. But not for scams like this. I like hydrogen because it can be made from things like wind farms and waterfalls, where you can justify using 1000 Watts just to make 800, because the carbon footprint is small. That being said…
“Water for gas HHO” is not a money-saving breakthrough.
If you remember nothing else, remember just this:
Per liter, water has 0 W-hr of energy in it. Hydrogen has 3 W-hr @ STP. Conversely, gasoline has 9,700W-hr. Which one do you want for fuel??
