I know snopes is a good place to check out urban legends but where can you check out advertiser claims? For example, I see a bunch of ads for converting a standard car to run on part gasoline and part water. How could I find out if that is even possible?

I remember seeing this on the history channel about a week ago and one of the mayjor epidemics that was being discussed was regarding water. In this documentary this guy says that water is getting extremely low and we could very easily run completely dry in a mater of a few short years maybe 20 or 30 years from now.
The reason I ask this question is because I’ve been searching for free energy and I’ve been seeing a lot of hydrogen engines that use water instead of gasoline. Now if this water crisis is true I don’t think hydrogen engines are safe and should not be released to the public. I can’t find any answers to this question so im asking you. Are we truly facing a water crisis or what?

i have read tons and tons of articles on the net about the technology of running your car on part water and part fuel through electrolysis and to the intake manifold, is it really true? or only scams and bullshits? if it is true, for every plus there is always a minus, so what are it’s disadvantages? I am very curious about this technology. I come from the Philippines, are the materials needed available here? Our fuel price for Premium unleaded as of July 28,2008 is around $5 to the gallon if converted since we use liters. Your help would really be highly appreciated.. Thank you.

This is a proven SCAM, even though many people are in denial about it or should I say desperate for it to be true.
The energy required to separate the water into Hydrogen and Oxygen is more than the energy you can get back out of it when you burn it in your engine.
In other words, the drag on your alternator will lower the mileage more than burning the HHO gas will gain mileage.
Anybody claiming better mileage is probably running their engine too lean and will pay for it in the future with expensive repairs.

Yeah, but it will rust the engine out.

There is a electronic book for sale which accordingly will teach on how to make an attachment for a car which converts water to hydrogen gas to improve car’s mileage. Is this true or scam”?
