My car was parked on the side of a street when a flash flood came through. There is no water in engine or transmission that I know of. Right after it happened I drove about 200 miles back to my house without any kind of symptoms like misfiring etc. The only symptom that there is so far is the fault code P0441 evap system incorrect purge. That makes sense because the fumes are building up in the gas tank and makes a hissing sound when I unscrew the cap. The cap works fine. I can’t take it to a shop right away. Is it posably safe to drive with this error for say a few weeks at the most?

I’ve got a high pitch noise that occurs with my throttle response in my ’96 Ford Thunderbird V8. When I hit the gas, I hear this whistle; so if I hit the throttle with a tap-tap-tap, I’ll get three whistles that are ever so responsive to me tapping the throttle. It REALLY shrieked similarly, when backed my car up a good 30-40 ft. the other day on a dead street to read a sign that I had to take a second look at. So, that tells me it could be coming from my transmission; at least that noise and the first one I mentioned which happens only in drive, with my throttle; from the fuel line, alt. voltage or a bearing from a pulley/pump pulley from under the hood. I just put in a brand new water pump and serp. pulley kit less than a month ago; could it be the new water pump? It only made this noise mainly on the highway before, but was happening even louder on the expressway the other day. Seems like it’s getting worse unless it’s just the water pump breaking in. Thanks for your help!
If it is the water pump, could the new water pump pulley in that pulley kit be putting too much strain on my new pump, as it’s stock and the pulley’s not; so therefor, it may be making the water pump spin too fast. Could I need a more capable water pump…just to keep up with how the pulleys are spinning?

Me and my girlfriend went to Ft Myers Fl. for a 3 day vacation. On one of the days we rented a boat to go cruising around the water for the day. The place wanted 200 dollars for a full day or 150 for a half day plus you pay for the fuel you burn. We are on a tight budget so I got the guy to give us a full day at the price of a half days rate. The tank is full when you leave and they fill it up when you get back and you pay for that. The boat was a 17 foot pontoon boat with a yamaha 70hp motor. We were in the boat from 11am to about 4:30pm. About 5 1/2 hours. In that time we stopped twice for about 20 minutes and 45 minutes. So id say the engine was on for about 4 total hours. In that time we were full throttle about 75% of the time. Had a few no wake zones to go through. We get back and he says we burned 29 gallons of fuel!! At 5 bucks a gallon! You do the math.. Not expecting this at the least!! Did we get ripped off? Was the tank not full when we left? I didnt check..

Tomorrow, Sunday we are going to look at a 1984 Winnebago Chieftan motor home. It has only 43,000 miles on it. it uses gas and has new frig, water heater, tires and tune up, the guy selling said it MAY need an exhaust system, and the generator cuts out after about 10 minutes.
I’ve checked what they are selling for and find $5-7000. We can pick this one up for 4500.
Am I making a mistake?

My boyfriend said he had a big car repair to do this weekend that I know he had been planning on for weeks. His dad owns a garage and he does his own repairs. He said something I think about a fuel pump, water pump, spark plugs, and some filters. It took him a few hours friday evening, all day saturday, and a few hours sunday. Does this kinda stuff really take this long?

We just bought our first boat, a 19ft. open bow 1983 Bayliner Capri. I have never driven a boat and my husband is only a little more knowledgable than I am about boats. Can you give me step by step how to drive it once we get it in the water? He has gas-flooded it twice, so it’s my turn to try. Also any tips on boats would be greatly appreciated. Oh and this is for a small lake so I’m too worried about the crappy crafting of the boat. Thanks!!

i got water in the gas a while back and it ran like crap i had to replace the plugs and wires and fuel filter and a couple coils. now it runs and has the power to go which it did’nt back then but now im hearing this sound beside or inside my cataylic converter its shaking and my exhaust tips are shaking also. i first start my car up the motor shakes and vibrates and makes a ticking sound but it goes way i think thats the oil to lifters. but it seems like it still dont have that good acceleration like it used to and wats cause the vibration on the exhaust and motor and help is appreciated. I had mt check engine light come on Friday and I was completely angry!( I had my car in the shop the week before for the same problem and it was MAP sensor.) Well 2 days later they finally get to my car and call me to say it is fixed and the only thing they could find was the air filter clips were not clipped on one side and they fixed it and cleaned the air filter box itself. Well it was free of charge because I had been there so many times in the past 2 months! What I want to know is they said they could not find anything else wrong but if the light comes on again to bring it back, the code they got was Air Fuel problem. So what does this code mean? I have a 2001 hyundai accent. They said there could also be water in the gas tank but if it cam on again they would do a more extensive testing. Did I mention this was a dealership?
