Jetski stalls when I first give it gas…what might this be?

I’m considering buying my friends jet ski. I’ve taken it out a few times and it seems to run very well. The only exception is when you first put it in the water. The oil light blinks a few times…and you can’t give it really any gas without it stalling. You ride it around a few minutes then you can open it up and go just fine. There is oil in the ski…so that’s not it.

Once out on the lake…if you stop for a swim or whatnot and start it back up it usually takes 2 or 3 turns to get going again.

What is this sound coming from my car?

I have a grand prix, and for the last couple months whenever I come to a stop and then press on the gas again, I hear liquid moving around. It’s coming from the front, maybe the dash? Could this just be old rain water? And how will it effect my car? Thanks.

my car is sputtering , or cutting out. It is cold weather here and it has only done this twice.?

it is a chevy cobalt so is it possible that the car has water in the gas or condensation or frozen gas lines. There has been no engine light come on.. Car will sputter and then run fine after that..The temp here has been running 17degrees and below for past week… Should I run the gas out that is in there at this time. And how long should i warm the car up for in this cold weather.

Have you suffered economically in this recession?

I totally cut my spending. I don’t spend any money on anything for any reason except food, mortgage, electric, car gasoline and water. I don’t even pay for internet anymore. I use neighbor’s unsecured router. I get unemployment benefits and 3 more people in my house get unemployment benefits. We have been living on that for the past several months and so far it is helping us live. Our last car payments ended and we default on car insurance intentionally, for saving money

SCIENCE CHALLENGE BEETCHES! THE BEST GETS TEN POINTTS :D bwahahaha , lets see who can do this ;D?

LETS GO WHERE NO SCIENTIST HAS EVER GONE BEFORE (:
ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHALLENGE ?!

GO!

SKILL TESTING QUESTION!

Water & gasoline are both clear liquids at room temperature. Describe one physical property and one chemical property that might be used to distinguish between them,

BWAHAHAHAHAHA :D
are you skilled enough ?
i think not (:

When oxygen gas and hydrogen gas combine, they form water. What does this indicate about the properties of new?

When oxygen gas and hydrogen gas combine, they form water. What does this indicate about the properties of new compounds that are formed from different elements?

What is the partial pressure of the hydrogen gas collected in this way?

The hydrogen gas formed in a chemical reaction is collected over water at 30.0 degrees Celsius at a total pressure of 736 mm Hg.

2nd question: If the total volume of gas collected is 720 mL, what mass of hydrogen gas is collected?

What do you think is wrong with this boat that won’t stay running?

I went to look at a boat today. I connected the fuel line to the outboard motor and squeezed the pump until it reached full pressure and there was (10 year old??) stale gasoline in the fuel line. I cranked the key and the engine turned over but didn’t start. Then I tried starter fluid.

The boat was sitting for years so I had to pull the battery out of my car to crank it over at all. It cranked over very easily. The engine is mechanically sound.

My 1995 Ford Ranger is getting terttible gas mileage. Why is this?

1995 Ford Ranger
2WD Automatic regular cab

I bought it used with 183,000 miles and I originally never got any less than 25-26 MPG with a combination of 50/50 city and highway driving. The Ranger currently has 224,000 miles and now I’m lucky if I see 18-20 MPG highway. Why is this? It can’t be due to high mileage because again I bought it with high mileage in the first place.

I’ve replaced the EGR valve, water pump, heater control valve, timing belt, serpentine belt, fuel filter and nothing helps. My tires are all properly inflated as well. Could it possibly be the o2 sensor? I’ve never had that changed before. Any ideas? 18-20 MPG is V6 territory for crying out loud.

How will a badly nicked up prop effect my boat? Like this?

I have a 14′ aluminum fishing boat with an older (60′s) 25HP Johnson. It really starts and runs great except in the lake when I give it the gas it seems to only go half speed and won’t plane out. Yes, the prop is chewed up. I bought it this way. The previous owner told me it was that way for him always. It is a BIG old motor. Could it be too heavy and cause this? Although it sits in the water good. Possibly the lower unit? Compression is good. Plugs are good. Runs great.
Prop is badly nicked but what if that doesn’t solve the problem?
