Lets say that its 20 years later (or whatever) and cars in the US are fueled by E85. Would we be better off, cost-wise, then we were buying gas? That is to say, could the US farming industry support a large demand of E85, and keep the prices low (and by low, I mean under $2).
Same question for Hydrogen: could it be produced with such volume to keep the prices low enough?
I guess the overall question is, are these alternative fuels capable of being more financially feasible then gas is to us now?

BMW is working on steam-gas hybrid engine and Ford should be too. It may be able to capture up to 80% of waste heat and increase fuel efficiency. The gas engine block and exhaust waste heat it is used to generate steam. The engine block is in constant 100 C water at full temperature for optimum mechanical design. The exhaust heats up the vapor to increase the pressure and efficiency. For an all mechanical motor system it will have low driving power until the steam heats up.

I have read many articles about using about $400.00 to add a water system to make you gas mileage increase, however, am not sure if these really work?
Below is one:
Did you know that you can convert your car or truck to a water-burning vehicle (Water Hybrid)?
is a Do-It-Yourself, affordable and SIMPLE technology. No big science, all simple.
Water is supplemental to gasoline or diesel fuel – I have doubled fuel economy (61 MPG) in my Toyota Corolla 1999 shown above, and many more have doubled or even tripled their mileage. Too good to be true? Read on…
