how long when it take for your car to start back running right when you have water in your gas?
after gas treament and new tank of gas

1972 Chevelle 350. 47K original miles on motor. First of all, I changed all the parts that are vital to getting a car going. Such as: Distributor, spark plugs, wires, cables, battery, alternator, starter, water pump, new carb, new cylinder heads, all new fluids and etc… Nothing too performance but just pickin’ it up as time goes along. Anyway, I ordered a new carb and it should be arriving within two days. So, as you can tell, I’m on my last project for the motor which is fuel. The car itself will start with starting fluid but it will not without it. Will get really close but not go all the way. So, I added a new fuel pump. Turned it over but it is spitting out way old gas (looks all varnish and bad). I do not have this line connected to the carb. It is coming out into a container that I put in a position. So here is my question: I am going to take the tank off tomorrow, I am going to add like 2 new gallons of fresh fuel in there, mix it up and then add Sta-bil fuel stabilizer…….
and then mix them up and then pour it all out and let it dry and maybe repeat the process again. That is what some people that work at my nearest parts store suggested. With that and the chemical, they said that should mix with the old gas and them with the chemical added, it’ll come right out if you dump it. That is what I was going to do. Do you think that is good to do? I know radiator shops offer to do this too but I was wondering if I absolutely have to take it to them or can do it myself. The reason is: Because when I turn the key, gas is still flowing fine. But it’s just old. So if I just add new fuel, fuel stabilizer and mix it up and then pour it out, it would fix my problem? And after I do that, then couldn’t I just fill up with fresh new gas and run it to the carb and the car will operate fine again? Thanks
Oh, I guess I forgot to say: I know that starting fluid is bad. I just tried it to be sure fuel was my problem and not timing. Sprayed it in there maybe 3-4 times holding the can for less than a second each time. I go really easy on that. Not gunna use it again.
I was with my friend and he was the driver.
He pulled in this gas station to pump gas into his car, went inside to buy me a smart water ,and ran into a friend of his on his way back into the car forgetting that the gas pump was still in ,and he drove off and it pulled the gas hose off , but looks as though it can be reattached.
I took pictures , and videos of the incident , but the gas station asked for his auto insurance identification telling him they are going to bill him $500 on his CAR INSURANCE , and it wasn’t a car accident it was just a gas pump blonde moment accident no jokes and the manager wasn’t even their to wait for to see if the pump could be fix another thing is the worker writing this up didn’t give the corporation telephone number , or the station id. They didn’t even know what that was, but another worker gave information. What do you do in a situation like this?
My boyfriend said he had a big car repair to do this weekend that I know he had been planning on for weeks. His dad owns a garage and he does his own repairs. He said something I think about a fuel pump, water pump, spark plugs, and some filters. It took him a few hours friday evening, all day saturday, and a few hours sunday. Does this kinda stuff really take this long?
he has a mid 90′s bmw. not sure of the model
I added ISOHEAT to my 26 gallon tank on my Toyota Tundra. I thought I had moisture in the tank after it sat overnight with only 1/4 of a tank of gas, high humidity that night, lots of rain, and a temperature change. It has been two days and while drivability has gotten somewhat better ( no check engine codes now) it still stumbles a little immediately following start up, when the idle goes down even after the engine is already hot… i.e. stopping for gas and filling up and then restarting. I was getting code 300 multiple random misfires. None now. I replaced a few suspect vacuum lines to the EVAP canister and also the PCV valve. The fuel filter is 2 months old as are 3 out of 4 oxygen sensors and a Mass Air Flow Sensor.
i have a Toyota gasoline type AUV and Isuzu diesel pickup. What safety precautions should i take to avoid knocking out my engine.
1) What part of engine should not get wet in gasoline and diesel?
2) What is the best engine type is best to use in flooeded area?
3) what is the allowable depth of water should i take in to, is waist line level still allowed for a vehicle to enter?
Thank you guys!
i am getting ready to go out of town for like a month or maybe more; since the gas tank has water in it, i was thinking about getting all the gas out and just let the gas tank empty for the time i am going to be gone to see if it dries out.
can i do that? or will i mess the gas tank if i do that? any sugestions?
please!!
thanx in advanced!
I had a company that makes and install the kits to produce HHO gas install a system on my 2006 Honda Civic. The system is making plenty of hydrogen. I am not getting any gas mileage increase and I really think it is because the computer or sensors are not allowing it to be used properly. So, I was wondering if anyone may have any knowledge on how to bypass the necessary sensors to allow my car to get its improved gas mileage.
