How can I clean up car gasoline that spilled in my home? We tried, but it still smells fresh.?

My sons spilled a container of gasoline (for cars) in the hallway of my house. I cleaned it with dish soap and water, and threw out the rug, but the smell is overpowering even after 3 days.What can I do to get rid of this, or what can I use that will make it better.

Okay so my car cranks over but will not start! I hooked it up to another car and still didn’t start!?

I added antifreeze stuff to my gas. Checked oil and filled. I have a 1999 Saturn SC2 3 door coupe. I just got a brand new battery for it…there is a new water pump on it and everything is in good working order. New fuel filter new oil filter new air filter. Anyone can help?

detect a “pop.” How can I figure out where the leak is (soap and water like a bike tube?). What are the best bolts and washers to use? Is there something from a company I could use to maybe squirt in there to seal? Oh yeah, for this particular year and model, NO GASKET is used; just metal against metal. Thanks.

94′ Dodge Caravan overheated. Replaced radiator/water pump/thermostat, fixed timing, still problems. :(?

8 months ago we replaced the fuel pump to a 94 Dodge Caravan for the second time. Sometime during the fall, it overheated on 2 hour trip, and we found out the radiator, water pump, and thermostat had gone bad. After the winter, we replaced them all, fixed the timing on the motor, which had slipped when it overheated, and tried to start it. The problem is now the engine turns over, but it doesn’t start. We listened, and the fuel pump doesn’t sound like it’s kicking on. We believe that the engine is getting a small amount of fuel, but that there is not the amount of required pressure to keep the engine running. We’ve checked the coil, it was cracked in 3 places, however we replaced it, still no help.

99 grand am just replaced thermostat and water pump but car still overheats.?

Need to know what else it could be. or maybe if i have a faulty thermostat. btw just put in a brand new thermostat and its a pain to replace on this car. also put in a new water pump. my car still over heats and it shoots coolant out of the coolant overflow tank/over flow hose. I dont think there is anything else i need to replace. only time it over heats is when im idling for at a stop light and when i give it gas it shoots out heat in my car. but when im not giving it gas the heat doesnt work in my car and it starts to overheat as well. may have to take it to a mechanic but ive always worked on this vehicle and ive never had a problem like this even after replacing stuff.

I used a container which was slightly soiled with water to fill gesoline tank of generator. Will it make the engine have some trouble. There were just some water traces. not much

IT ALL STARTED WHEN WE TOOK OUT THE HONEY COMBS ON THE MAF!
we changed the spark plugs,wires,maf,fuel pump,water pump,valve cover& gasket,cam angle sensor,and that’s all i can think of right now..it sounds like its camming.
we got a new timing belt and did the timing the only thing the computer said was i don’t have a cat.
we changed the maf! we changed all of those parts because the computer said we had a bad fuel pump and plus my car was sitting for 5 yrs before i bought it i bought it in June2008 (the guy before me didn’t take car of the car)we upgraded to a walbro 255

no the guy didnt beat the shit out of it he was old! i already got a new turbo (upgraded)
the engine is the orginal engine and my turbo went out so i had to get another one!

transit van: drained filter but light is still on?

I asked a question about having water in the diesel filter and have drained it.

The fuel in water light is still on though and van is still sluggish. i have changed the diesel filter.

The an run fine for about an hour and then started going sluggish again and fuel in water light has come back on but this only happens when the ignition is on.

What can i do and whats causing this? I cant see anything personally wrong with it and dont want to take it into a garage until i know roughly what to do so the mechanic doesnt rip me off and give me a cock and bull story

Drove car over 1ft of standing water at night in the rain. Car still runs, but what should I do now?

I accidentally drove my car through about 1ft of standing water in poor visability conditions (rainy night). The car floated for a bit until I gassed it to get myself out of the water. No water got inside the passenger compartment as far as I know. Then the car had a funny smokey smell and what looked like steam coming out from under the hood on my drive back to my house about 0.5 miles away. All electrical systems were still running when I parked it. But I’m worried. What should I do with the car now? Is it safe to drive? What might go wrong under such conditions?
My biggest fear is that water might have splashed into the engine. How would I know if that has happened?
