OK, let me get this right. Big Oil has cut production because the price of oil dropped per barrel. But, wait they are still making more profit than even Microsoft does! WOW! So, how will the price of oil drop as demand drops well it will not because big oil will just slash production to keep the price high.

My car was stolen from my driveway, the car was located the next day in a pond. Front body damage, smashed window glass, front tires flat, the front half was submerged but not completely over the engine and up to the cup holders inside. There is water in the oil and the gas cap was off so something probably happened there. The flat tires were completely bald so I am sure there is clutch damage. The insurance company is coming to get it and take it to a savage yard for assessment of the damages. Either it’s totaled or not but either way I am sure I will not get what it’s worth, it’s their business to make money. What can I do to be prepared? How do they determine the value? The car had upgraded stereo, exhaust, tint, iPod adapter, etc… All electronic equipment was stolen. It’s a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe in excellent condition. Thanks for any help you can give.
I have looked at NADA, there is a resale, retail, trade-in, etc… Which one? You can’t buy that car in this area for what they have it listed. I have checked everywhere I can on-line and the same car is going for $1000 more than the NADA average.
I am not looking to get rich, I simply want to replace this car. Exhaust, no big deal it was only cosmetic, the ipod adapter was hardwired so the person who took the claim say they will consider it but not the iPod, which is understandable. The car was in excellent condition, EXCELLENT, no dings, no dents, new paint, no holes in interior, non-smoker, blah blah blah…. Thanks for the help you guys, this has shown me what to be prepare for and what to research.

am having some troubles with my kawasaki zzr 250 these days.
1. idle speed always goes up or down! suppose when i start my bike it shows 1200 rpm. but gradually comes down and stops. but after running for a while it shows around 2200 rpm even though i set it around 1500 rpm. why?
2. after running for a long time (around 1 hour) when i stop my bike or make it neutral, it makes really weird sounds and gasoline comes out(sometimes). but it always sounds like boiling water/boiling gasoline actually :S…why?

Details: gas gauge and engine temp gauges not working, also battery and low fuel indicators are on, the gear selection light not working, cruise control not working, occasionally wipers won’t stop or start, and except when first started doesn’t start easily.
Maintenance done recently: new alternator, water pump, fuel pump, tune up (plugs and oil), radiator flushed, new battery, had cluster checked (told it works fine)

in the next couple of months. It doesn’t matter if it has a completely perfect paint job or interior, as long as it runs well. Don’t have very much money, but I would be willing to trade my ride. I have a 1995 Ford Probe with all 4 alloy wheels, a 5-speed and a custom exhaust and spoiler. I have installed a cold air intake, and am thinking about installing a hydrogen generator to increase gas mileage. The main problem is that it’s purple, and the clearcoat is gone. Really good car, have title and about to replace license plates. I grew up reading my dad’s car books (hes been a mechanic for over 20 years) So I know a little myself. Really love Miata’s and S2000′s, but there just aren’t very many around here, thanks to the Ford Mustang and the Mitsubishi eclipse. Don’t get me wrong, I like these cars also, but am mainly interested in Mazdas and Hondas. Anyone who would be interested in the next couple of months, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

ways to improve mpg: get rid of the pollution equipment – wastes gas
develop new manifolds and intakes – will help the engine breathe easier
find ways to re-use the heat that comes out the exhaust
use lighter weight materials: carbon fiber, composites
use hydrogen producing canisters that require only water and electrodes, producing a hydrogen supplement for the fuel system.

My boat and trialer weigh around 8500 pounds loaded up with water and gas. My truck is a 2 wheel-drive 3/4 ton truck that pulls the boat very well. I just bought the boat and went out last weekend with the company I bought it from. We used their truck to do the launching and I towed it home.
I’m going out to Newport Beach, CA this weekend to launch and I’m worried my back end is going to slip all over the place.
What can I do to prevent this? I heard putting carpet down can help. Scrubing the ramp down too might help.
