I just recently discovered that the reason my motor kept quitting on me the first time out was due to water in the gas. I had siphoned out some gas from the bottom of the can as suggested and it wasn’t long and you could clearly see a separation of gas and water in the jar. I am going to dump all of that gas out of the can and dry out the can the best I can. When I add fresh gas to the can should I add anything to the gas? I thought I heard of something that was added to the gas for outboard motors because of the ethanol that is in the gas is hard on them. Any help on this?

Okay so i have a 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 and today i put my car in 3rd gear and floored it … and it was fun and all.. and then after i hit 60 i stopped and pulled into my friends driveway and dropped him off and then i pulled back and my friend points at the floor where i was parked and liquid is dripping out.. i pull the car to the side and notice the front is dripping.. My temp on the car was really high *100 degrees*.. i looked under the car and water was dripping *it didnt smell like gas or oil* and so i look under the hood and there is water collected on the bottom like under my engine kinda… well anyway i leave it alone for a while.. and i go back to it and turn the heat on all the way and drive home *the temp went to 86 * *normally its at 82 or so*… and it stopped dripping while i was driving but when im parked it drips.. I cant tell if there is a hole under the car but i dont know what is wrong. What is wrong with my car? Did the radiator break? Please help me!
The color of the liquid is clear; no odor; and seems like water… when i was driving and flooring it i did not have the air conditioner on.. And why is it dripping from the bottom? is it cracked at the bottom of the car???
Also there was a pool at the bottom under the hood.. under the engine kinda you can say.. it isnt orange.. when i put the liquid on my hand it was clear… What do i have to do to repair it? and how much do you think it will cost?

I have a 1990 acura integra gs. 2door. 4 cylinders and 5speed. I heard short ram is better for fuel economy but not as fast as cold air. I heard cold air can get water in it. can you tell me the pros and cons of each and how much they cost? I want to get more hp but at the same time whats best for the engine in the long run and mpg.

I drive a ’93 Subaru Impreza and it’s about -12 F outside and my car has trouble starting when it’s this cold out. I’ve heard that adding HEET will help with cold starting like this. Is there any truth to that? All I know about HEET is that it basically adds alcohol to your gas in order to prevent water build up in your fuel lines. Will this actually help my car start easier when it’s this cold out?
Thanks for the help!!

I know the reserve is in the same tank as to where the main fuel gets pulled when in the on position. Since the bike i just bought had been sitting for a long time and it doesnt seem to be able to idle (or even press the clutch without giving it gas in the process…) I think its just bad fuel? I have already cycled through once and put premium instead of the regular that had been put in it by the previous owner. My question is should I switch the petcock to reserve for 30ish miles to try to clean that fuel out, or does it not make a difference? I am hoping that my bike is just starving for good gas during idle and maybe the older has had some water build up…
Also i forgot to mention the bike is really new. It is a 2005 vstar midnight custom 1100cc with under 5000 miles. The person I bought it from rode it consistently until December and then got a divorce and rode it once in may and said it sounded good. Since then she has not ridden it.

Well see my mom is in the hospital in Lexington, Ky, I live approx. 30 miles away, and they are from about 60 miles south of where I live. Today my family asked me to come up to take my brother back home to feed and water the dogs, since our aunt who has been doing this while my mom was in the hospital is also in the hospital. So I drove to Lexington 30 mile up there and then back home , 60 more miles, then back up to lexington 90 miles thats a total of 180 miles and when I get to the hospital and ask for help with the gas they give me $10.00, that was enough gas for almost 3 gallons of gas, my car gets about 20 miles to the gallon. I put $30.00 right after I picked up my brother because my tank was empty. Is it unreasonable for me to ask my family to help me out, since I have to do all the driving while she is in the hospital ( my brother cant drive). All of my family thinks this is WRONG of me, but my husband just lost his job, and I only work part time. Opinions please
