Water running through tubes sound when my car is on?

I know nothing about cars and I have a 2005 Chevy Impala that I bought 2 months ago. Aside from it not cranking right all the time, or not starting (and then starting a minute later), and the heat not working in the driver’s side I have had no major problems. It runs well and I often drive 200 miles every other weekend. However, recently, I was on my way out of state and stopped at a gas station. When I turned the car back on and went to drive out of the parking lot I heard what sounded like water running through tubes… and ever since I have heard it off an on… I feel like my car sounds strange anyway (drove a PT Cruiser previously) and always sounded like stuff moving through tubes but this was very noticeable… And was not what I’ve been hearing for the last two months.
Anyone have an idea what this may mean or how this may be related to my other problems (heater, cranking)?

1995 artic cat snowmobile is running rough?

When i start my snowmobile it runs rough. Like maybe water in the gas. I cleaned the carborator twice the best i could.” one carb two cylinders” Checked for spark on both plugs. at full throttle it runs just above an idle let off the gas and it stalls. it sounds too me a cylinder is cutting out out but plugs are firing. it ran fine when i shut it off. started it up an hr later and this is what i got. Maybe its still got junk in the carb?? Any suggestions?
I also added a can of dry gas as well.. forgot too mention that
and its a puma 340 f/c
The nut on the choke adjustment vibrated up on it causing the choke to stay on.. lol Thank you for all the answer’s they gave me the idea too check that nut adjustment. Now i can get the kids off the video games shove em outside and they can have some real fun.

How much land needed to keep a regular family car running for a year with ethanol?

As far as I know is needed two hectares (20.000.oo sq,mt) produce 1 lter of fuel, the sugar cane could be harvested twice per year with high investiments in technology, land and water. this means about 24 km (14.65 mi) running in the road and about half in the city, close to 12 minutes with the engine on, Do you a know better figures? This question is to realize how much of the croppable land would be sacrificed just to keep us driving our cars.

What would cause a 1987 Volvo 244 keep running with the key out of the ignition?

This car was subjected to a flash flood in which the water rose to about the level of the glove box. The car seemed ok except for the fuel pump would not run. I got a new ECU and now the pump works wonderful but when I went to shut the car off and take the key out, everything was still running! I had to pull the battery cable off of the car to shut it off.
IDEAS??
so what do i do to fix that? anyone know?

Engine running rough – 2001 Kia Optima?

Can anyone help me understand what happened? I filled my gas tank (from 1/4 full) the other day but the pump didn’t shut off when the tank was full, and ended up overflowing. Now my engine is running really rough. Could it be because the tank was overfilled? Or could there be water in the gas? I added a bottle of Gas Line antifreeze to try drying up the water, and ran the engine for a while and while idling, it seemed to smooth out. I took it out on the road today but it is still very rough on acceleration. Any help or insight you could give in your answer would be greatly appreciated….thanks in advance. I just don’t want to bring it to a mechanic if it is something I can correct here at home. Please keep in mind that I’m not automotive-savvy. Thank you.

Car running hot after partially flooded?

I have a 2000 Suzuki esteem 4 door. Last week it was in a flood that rose right above the wheel/wheel well. Someone started my car and backed it out of the parking space that was flooded, but then it stalled and wouldn’t start. Had it towed home, let it dry for a week, still wouldn’t start.

We took out the spark plugs and water squirted out when we tried to turn it over. Tested the started, that is fine. Charged battery and the car started (rough at first). I took it IMMEDIATELY to get an oil change and transmission fluid changed.

truck running rough, doesn’t want to gain speed, won’t go above 70mph?

i have a 1995 gmc sierra z71 and recently, yesterday it started chugging on me. I noticed that it would slowly lose speed and power as i was going down the road, but i had cruise control on. Now i notice that it doesn’t really want to stay running, when i give it little gas it seems like its on the verge of stalling which it has done to me a couple times b4. I just changed the plugs and wires on it and was working fine until yesterday. I was told from somebody that there may be water in the gas. So i put dry gas in and threw 20 dollars of gas in and drove it home from work (25 miles from home). During the drive i kept my pedal to the floor except to let it shift smooth and then pedal to the floor again hoping i would burn out the water if that is it. I couldn’t get it to go above 70, however i noticed that once i let off the gas to let it shift and then slowly pressed down the pedal it seemed to gain speed faster. I am open for suggestions. i’m pretty upset about this truck since i got it a month ago. Side note it did like it wanted to stall at times when i first got it and sometimes did. Don’t know if this helps but when it stalls i have to hold the pedal to the floor while turning it over and thats the only way it will start. when cold it turns over and starts and sometimes it will have to be done the other way. Sorry about this being so long i’m just going over everything i can think of.
I’m sorry i did forget to mention that the air filter was changed as well. The fuel filter was apparently replace 2 or 3 years ago.

Why is my 454ci boat engine shutting down after running for 10-15 min. Generally this is around 3000 rpm?

1990 Baja with 454ci with electric pickup distributer. After it dies a turn of the key and it starts right up again. Will run again for awhile and than dies again. I checked the coil and it reads within the specs. There is know water in the fuel. It runs great with no missing or knocking untill it just dies. I did switch coils and coil wire to the distributer, but it didn’t help. It doesn’t seem to do this when running at idle 750rpm-1000rpm. The temperature is normal and oil pressure appears to be fine. I thought at one point that it could be starving for fuel, but the bronze elements are clean and after the engine stalls out, it starts right up again with the turn of the key.

why won’t my boat stay running?

I was running my boat up river for about 45min with no problems, when all the sudden it just stopped. It will start again but only for about 3 seconds before dying again. I’ve checked the gas vent, no water in tank, fuel filter is fine, and mixture is right. I’ve done the little tests to see if the bulb was pumping, and it is, and fuel is getting to the carb, at least manually anyway through the connections, and all seems well there. Anyway Mercury 20 hp 1976 is what it is. I was wondering if the oil I have is causing a problem it is the TC-3 oil.
In Response: It is pre-mix, manual choke, and no I haven’t found an air filter as of yet, I’m going to go look. The spark plugs were a little wet when I pulled them out, but otherwise o.k. I think it is a vacumn style fuel feed, but could be wrong…if it helps its a 76′ Mercury 20hp.
It was running with no probs, it really gets me how it just shut down so directly without warning. Something tells me it is an easy solution…I just don’t know the solution. Hey thanks for your help, it really kicks butt that I can get on here and find fellas like you to answer me.
I just disconnected the wires at the kill switch, or wire I should say. I disconnected one of them with the same result. It ran for about 2 seconds, and quit abruptly.
Though the wires are really bad, dry rotted, and bare in alot of spots. I seperated them as best I could.
