Have a 98′ Bonneville SSEI and have just been told engine is a total loss from anti-freeze mixing with oil after having the fuel intake repaired. Right after having the repair done at Meineke the car drove to bring it home, but the next day the car had no oil pressure when we came to a stop, and the check engine light came back on. Mechanic said they may have gotten water in the oil? and drained all the oil and told us we needed a higher weight oil because car was old. NEVER had to do this before and have never heard of putting a higher weight oil to fix an engine problem. The next time we went to drive the car it stalled – several times. We brought it to a Pontiac dealer who replaced vacuum hose. Car worked for 1 day (to and from work) and then lost oil pressure again and engine was knocking. The final diagnosis? Total engine loss and I’m pissed. Could Meineke have caused this damage? Did Meineke change the oil because they knew what was happening?

well my uncle had an accident and parked it in the garage (was running) left it for 5years, now he said if i want it i can have it, body work is nothing fiberglass and body filler can’t fix. however i tried starting the car but the battery was dead, changed it, added fuel, filled the water, oil is black but will do. i turned the switch once the fuel kept reading empty ? i tried to start it the engine turns but does not start. what do you think i should check/replace next ? need tips.
the starter did turn. no i did not flush fuel system as i don’t know how.
when i turn the switch to on i can’t hear the fuel pump. how should i fix this new pump or clean the current one ?

My boyfriend said he had a big car repair to do this weekend that I know he had been planning on for weeks. His dad owns a garage and he does his own repairs. He said something I think about a fuel pump, water pump, spark plugs, and some filters. It took him a few hours friday evening, all day saturday, and a few hours sunday. Does this kinda stuff really take this long?
he has a mid 90′s bmw. not sure of the model

My ’99 chevy suburban does not start unless you add gas directly to the fuel injector throttle body. After you do it, then it starts and runs normally. The fuel pump makes noise for two seconds when you turn the key on. This all started after I changed the water pump. I checked the spark plug wires and I am getting spark on all of them. Does anyone know how to repair this?

I brought my outboard in for some minor maintenance. Upon its return I went to have a day on the water. The motor would not start. The fuel line was inserted into the motor but not reconnected. I was told this is standard practice at this location.
Not a big deal – just some wasted time etc.
