i have a question about a push mower?

i have a 3.5 briggs and stratton push mower and it,s acting up. it ran good last saturday and today after i filled it up with gas it just like comes and goes when it,s running. i got a gas jug filled at exxon and i filled the tank today and it started to run like that. i was wondering will it make puffs of black smoke come out of the muffler if it comes and goes? i did about all i can think of. i changed the plug, gaged it first and cleaned the magneto but nothing seems to help. i thought it sheared the pin off but i checked that and it,s in time. maybe i got some water in the gas, you suppose? thanks for your time.
i asked a few minutes ago that my push mower comes and goes and puffs of black smoke comes out. i was told to adjust the carburetor but there are no adjustment screws on it. would water in the gas cause it?

Question for people who know how to fix cars. Car not starting?

Okay so last night it was like ten degrees outside and I tried to start my car and it just wouldn’t start at all. I figured it was just too cold.
Today, I tried to start it up and it started and then the battery light came on like it does if the car stalls out or something, and then turned off. I tried to do it about 2 or 3 more times and it just kept turning off.
I believe that the battery is fine because I can turn the car on, just not start the engine/keep it running.
My gas is really low, the gas light hadn’t turned on quite yet, but it is very low.
My step-father said there might possibly be water in the gas tank, and since it’s low that would cause this problem now?

here`s a lil more to my truck question?

The truck set for a year I bought it from a friend It needed a radiator. Got one. a battery. Got one of those too. filled it with antifreeze. Took off in it. I filled the gas tank checked the oil . It has ran great, great gas mileage drives very good. No misses sputters or anything. Fires right up in the mornings, High idle kicks in and then goes off perfectly. I drove to the lil store on the corner, less than 3/4 of a mile, killed the truck went inside came out and damn it, antifreeze all over the ground. Water pump is out. drove back to the house and put a new water pump on. I adjusted the kickdown cable for my second gear to last just a lil longer and i went for a test drive to make sure no leaks when It starts to run bad. as you drive 1st gear, its an aod mind you, it winds up to about 2000 rpms and shifts 2nd gear slight acceleration increase with the pedel and the same thing should happen as before but not with this one. It cuts out and backfires through the aircleaner. It just had a complete tune-up just 2 weeks before I bought it cap rotor plugs wires aircleaner I put a fuel filter and it had the oil changed. Does my truck have 2 fuel pumps on it One in the tank and one on my frame rail 1986 bronco 302 fuel injected EB edition 4×4 4 speed aod could one of my fuel pumps be going bad or could I have bought gas with water in it If my ignition module is going bad is there anyway to check it.

Question about the Honda FCX?

Well I am looking into cars that I want for when i get my license in December. My dad is a mechanic so its gonna be used and hey that is fine by me the cars I have in mind are Mini Cooper, Honda Fit, and Honda FCX.

Now the Honda FCX is fueled by water. Where do you go to fill it up again… more like how?

Also if the seats are made of plants isn’t that kinda bad for the environment just taking plants to make into a car?

00′ chevy 2500 farm/cdl truck losing power question?

hey question for you all..
the boss has an 00′ chevy truck at work..previously I was driving it when all of a sudden it lost “power”..the speedometer showed the truck slowing down..like what happens when one runs out of gas or the fuel pump goes bad..
I shut the truck down..restarted it..and barely drove it away..
the boss found he had some bad gas/water in the gas..he put alot of heet into it.
I drove the truck about 40 miles the next week without any problems..we even put a more expensive grade of fuel in the tank this time. and changed the fuel filter
then today after driving the truck it lost power again.
this time the bosses’ son reached over and shifted the truck into neutral..turned over the key/started it and put it back into drive ( all while I held the wheel).
the truck regained it’s power/speed and we were okay.

does any one know if i can buy a pulesator from a store and does any one know how to make the car idle on a home made hydrogen power cell i need to know the prosess of utilizing my power cell with my gas petal please help me thanks.

I have a ’96 chevrolet pickup question?

I have a ’96 chevrolet half ton 2wd with a vortech 5.0 in it. It had trouble codes stored in it and then when I had it looked at the guy erased them all and told me to replace the both bank O2 sensors so I did and the truck ran a little better, but it still hesitates under hard accelleration like it is starving for fuel. Under regular accelleration it seems normal. So I called the guy back and he said that he meant the one downstream from the cat. I want to know any ideas and would the 1 O2 sensor make it fall on it’s face so bad during hard accelleration? I have already checked for a plugged cat. and I have replaced the fuel filter. Does a failed O2 sensor cause a lean condition? I have tried some drygas in the fuel for water should I try that again?

Question for Mercury outboard mechanics -?

I have a 2004 Mercury 135hp Optimax Saltwater outboard (w/ Smartcraft) – it has about 100 hrs on it now and I want to get a complete tune-up & servicing done (plugs, filters, lube, whatever else it calls for) – What would the approx cost be for parts & labor for this? (my authorized Merc dealer nearby charges $64/hr labor) Just trying to get an idea before I ask my local shop because they seem to be way high on prices there. Thanks !! (ps – I have a fuel/water filter separator also in the gas line, so I am sure that canister filter needs replacing – I also heard this engine has some type of drive belt or V-belt – not sure if its time to replace or not)

Question about a boat?

I just purchased a 2002 tahoe with a 4.3 mercruiser inboard. When I first drove it, it ran fine then the motor started cutting in and out. When the gas tank got low it started doing it a bunch. The guy I bought the boat from said it could have water in the gas. So the next day I put a new fuel water separator filter on it and topped off the tank. I ran it for about six miles or so and it did not do it at all. I let it sit for a couple of hours and then drove another couple of miles still no problem. I let it sit for another hour then it when I drove it, it was doing it again. So I set for about 30 minutes then drove it about six miles home and it did not do it that time. What could this be?
