left gas cap and the little door wide open after filling my car!! please help?

i fueled up my car and drove home. its about 2-3 miles from the gas station. i got home and realized i had left my gas cap and everything wide open. it was raining. not pouring but just a light rain. do you think some water got in there? if so, would there be any damage to my engine? HELP

oh and btw dont think im stupid or anything for doing this. i completely forgot because i had to go in and pay this time. i’ve never done this before!

Tips on cleaning motorcycle gas tank out please!?

Its an old tank, full of black grime, but not alot of rust. I tried shaking bolts inside with soap and water someone suggested to me, but this stuff wont budge.
Can I fill the tank with purpe power or simple green and just let it soak in the tank for awhile? Should I dilute it? Thanks!

How do I know if I have water in my gas? My car is acting crazy, I first noticed it was not starting on first try and it keeps stalling, then it starts and it idles up and down crazily, then i put it in gear and it stalls. then I go 50 miles an hr and it jumps like if you have stick shift??? I have put a bottle of injecter cleaner and a red bottle of Heet. I am sooo worried cause its not helping and I tried to run all the gas out and someone changed the fuel filter for me but nothing is working? Im worried cause its my only car right now. Do you know what it can be? Also, it has bad fumes .

Gas smell coming from car heaters please help.?

i have a 2000 peugeot 206 1.4. the other day i realized i have an Oil lear from the front left side of the car just by where the timing belt sits. i took it to a mechanic and after stripping the timing belt out we saw that there was an Oil leak coming from the engine head gasket and we got it replaces with a new one and new timing belt, water bump and the other part that the timing belt sits on.

i had some kind of smell before as well but now i can smell something that smells like gas coming from the heaters when its on and the car is running.

A funny, but potentially destructive car question, PLEASE?

Is this true ?

And if it is true, will the engine not start at all, or will it start and then stall after some time ?

Also, is the engine damaged severely, and if yes, how is it repaired ?

Car troubles PLEASE HELP?

my 99 ford taurs is acting up on me. I drove down to halifax and about a hour into my drive my heat went sky rocketing and i pulled over as soon as i seen this. i poped my hood and the car was steaming and their was no fluid in my radiator fluid holder. Thinking their was a leak i filled it with water and drove to the nearest gas station. the water had boild out by this time and i filled it with more fluid and put a containor of blocking fluid. their is no leak now and i drove it fine for a few weeks now but the fluid still boils out of the holding tank and steams alot. now my fan does not seem to turn on and my service engine light is on all the time. the heat stays constant in the middle but the coolent seems to get super hot and boils out if i drive it for any length of time. I have had few people look at some say its my head gasget, soem say themoitor, but if was the head gasget their would be some signs of it leaks out right? and their does not seem to be any. And just last couple of days the car is starting really rough, it roals over really hard. any help would be awsome
i only over heated it once. The temp has help steady since just the coolent boils out but it is still cerculating
i only have 124 thou Kil on it tho is that not rediculously early for a head to go?

Water in my Car Engine! Please Help!?

So I went to my local park to go run there, and there is a spillway that is on top of bricks, that I always have to go through to get to the other side, (everyone needs to go through this). So I go through and there seems to be a lot of water splashing, but I continue onward without a problem. So I’m driving up to the top of the park and the car still seems fine, but when I get to the top, it feels like there is resistance when I push on the gas. So I get out and i see that the bottom part of the front bumper is hanging off, so I conclude that this is what could have been giving me resistance. I call my parents on the phone and they come take a look, and we fix the front bumper part. So Im assuming that it is fine now, but we start the car and there is now the same resistance, I push on the gas and the car goes, but it jerks backwards a bit, and I go to put ALOT of gas into the car, but nothing happens. So Im sure that something in the engine is filled with water. To all the Car Mechanics reading this please give your opinion, and then give an estimate for how much this will cost me. thank you..

I think my 98 Chevy Blazer has a cracked head, PLEASE HELP!?

I have a 1998 6-cylinder Chevy Blazer STI that most of the time runs just fine. But every once in awhile it has days where it doesn’t seem to want to hold water or coolant. I had my radiator cap replaced but a few people who have looked at it think it is either a cracked head or blown head gasket. It has been over-heating all day today and any water I put in the radiator has just leaked right out the bottom of the car somewhere. Also it is not using the water from the reservoir for some reason, and when idling if I gas it hard, water SPEWS out of something under the hood (upwards). Oil is dark and muddy looking and so isn’t the water in the reservoir AND radiator. I really need for this car to make it home tonight which is about 110 miles or 1 1/2 – 2 hrs away. Is there any quick fix out there, just so I can get the car home tonight??
