1988 Toyota Pickup with water in gas line… need mechanic to fix?

My truck has had this problem before. After a rain, I will start it up to go somewhere and after a few miles, it sometimes sputters and stalls out, but then will restart and rumble and run rough as the water goes through the system. Then, I can restart it and the truck will run fine again. This time, though, I was driving and it stalled out with all the signs of the usual water in the line but it wont restart. It just wont turn over. We have replaced the plugs and wires, and the battery is fine, but what, if anything, can be done without having it towed to a shop for repair? Could it be something other than water in the line? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I need to store about 50/100 gallons of gasoline for winter (generator-emergencies etc) How?

I want it to be safe of course and probably above ground (for gravity flow) to fill jugs. I heard storing gasoline for a long time tends to collect water or condensation in it somehow. I don’t want water in my gas! Also, does it need to be vented or sealed off tightly? Ever heard of lightening striking a gas storage tank ? I need to know ALL the best advice and safe solutions to do this. Thanks! Teri

WATER FUEL ! SO WHY DO WE NEED OIL? MONEY! Isn’t there a crime here somewhere ??? Whom do we report it to

In 1965 I saw our new vehicle for all military services at the US Army Transportation School in Fort Eustis, VA. The fuel was water. In 1975 when there was no fuel at the pump, I called the school to find out what happened to that vehicle and found that all traces had been removed. It is easy to see that the name of the game is to take money out of our pocket and put it in the pocket of oil people. Iraq is just a little expense of doing business … with oil. Isn’t there a crime here somewhere ??? Whom do we report it to ???

Do I need a new Tranny?

I have a 94′ Nissan Altima and am having some issues. I have a new fuel filter, radiator, water pump and just had a major tune up a month ago. Now, it idles really rough and from time to time while I am driving it makes a rattling sound. I just checked the transmission fluid yesterday and there wasn’t any (I didn’t even know how to do it TIL yesterday). It is at the right level now, BUT, it still rattles from time to time. What made me wonder about this issue is that besides the rattling and rough idle (which is getting a bit worse), it isn’t switching gears very well anymore. For instance, I was driving home from work yesterday morning and the idle was low and, of course, it was jumping at idle. I stalled on the freeway… just stopped. I was able to roll to the side of the road and it just started back up. I am able to still drive it, but yesterday and today the gears won’t shift. I can still drive it but it will stay either in first or second gear (I have an automatic by the way), or, the gage will go all the way up to the #4 and just stay there when I am on the freeway, or stay between the #1 and 2. Other times it will switch gears alright for a bit. Every once in a while it will jump in the middle of my driving at a steady pace, but that’s only happened once or twice. I’m sure it will happen to me more as the problem will more than likely get progressively worse. Do you think it is the transmission? Also, how much does a new tranny usually cost, I know usually a lot, but any reasonable estimates? Thank you all for your time :)

Water got into car engine need help?

Hi guys I really Need help on this . Well to start off I have. 2007 Lincoln torn car, I drove the car through 3ft of water, (I know very stupid) well as soon as I got in the water in less than 10 seconds after being deep the car shut off. Didn’t even try to turn back on. We had pushed the car out of the water within no longer than 10 minutes. The car wouldn’t even try to turn on. Well got the car home, changed oil and filter, and alot of water was in the oil. I then tryed to turn the car on, basically make it run but not to the point were it turned on really, just tryed to make the engine run and turn if off. Changed oil again and more water came out. Milky mix of water and oil. Then turned on car the car this time for a good minute and made a loud and fast knocking noise. I checked oil again and there is more water. I changed oil another time including filter all 3 times and this time turned it on with very little to no water now. There is a loud knocking in engine. As I push the gas the knocking goes faster, don’t know what part is making the knocking. But other than that the car stays on and doest stall. Do you think the knocking will eventually stop or is my engine done ? Please help thanks guys if you need more info just write it . Thanks in advance
