Ok about a month or two ago, i was being stupid and took my truck in for some major Mud Boggin (ridin through mood, water ect….).. afterwards while driving, my U-Joints broke and of course my driveshaft fell… i fixed the U-Joints and got my truck runnin good again…. About 2 weeks later my truck broke down in the middle of the road.. It was acting like i was out of gas, if i idled it seemed fine, but when i went to get on the gas, it was sluggish and jumped real bad like it was low ( when i had a full tank pretty much ).. it does it now just about every time i drive… it may take 5-15min just to get to 45-50 miles an hour… but on somedays it runs just fine and acts like nothing is wrong.. Also when i start the truck up i contanstly have to give it gas, or it fails on me… and there is a knocking sound coming from under the truck ( possibly on the right passenger side )… If anyone has any ideas on what this may be please let me know..
The truck is a 1996 Ford Explorer 2WD 5.0L V8
truck idles fine, except on first start up and also the knocking isnt coming from the engine it is coming from under the truck… more like right under the truck from my passenger seat….

My car (2006 Honda Civic EX) was close to running out of gas so my boyfriend and I decided to put gas from the gas tank in our garage in my car. It was five gallons.
We started driving and it would jerk really bad when accelerating from red lights…
Then after about an hour my malfunction light came on…
I went to auto zone to have them hook it up to the code thing. It came back with EGR Valve… Code P0400 Or whatever it is..
When I went to leave Auto Zone my car wouldnt start for a while… It was jerking when starting.. But like I said eventually started.
It’s the 5.9 magnum. It idles fine and runs good as long as I’m gentle on the gas pedal. If I stomp down on the pedal it lurches and bucks just like the governor is shutting off the fuel at just above 2000 rpm. It does this more when the engine is under load, like going up hills, accelerating, etc. If the weather is below freezing I don’t get the jerking, it’s just sluggish. Anything above freezing and the jerking starts again. At first I thought bad fuel or water in the fuel, but that wasn’t the case. I’ve added fuel dryer, fuel system cleaner, and burned through 3 tanks of fuel from different places.
I took it to the shop and paid $100 for them to hook it to their diagnostic rig and they told me it was the pump or something in the tank. It sounds suspicious to me, seems like if it were the pump it would be worse in cold weather, not better.
Any theories would be appreciated.
Tomorrow, Sunday we are going to look at a 1984 Winnebago Chieftan motor home. It has only 43,000 miles on it. it uses gas and has new frig, water heater, tires and tune up, the guy selling said it MAY need an exhaust system, and the generator cuts out after about 10 minutes.
I’ve checked what they are selling for and find $5-7000. We can pick this one up for 4500.
Am I making a mistake?
I’ve had the starter, the brains (a chip), the fuel injection system all replace within the year. Just changed the fuel filter because the gas seemed like it was gaging. I had to floor it several times to get it to stay running. If I stopped and it stalled I’d have to wait 20 min. before it would start again. Now it just won’t start. I have a newly rebuilt engine, new coil. New master cylinders & slave for the clutch& brakes all kinds of newly replaced stuff. It acts like it wants to start it’s cranking when I press on the gas nothing happens I shouldn’t have to press on the gas it’s fuel injected. What should I try replacing first to get it running again? Should I get a push start to see if I can jump it. It really feels like it has something to do with the gas.Could water in the tank cause it to sputter?
I have a 1990 Dodge shadow 2.2 liter fuel injection.
when I give it gas and as I travel on the freeway, everything is fine. Also it only sputters after I’ve been driving for a while and when I come to a stop.
It seems like its going to run out of gas but it doesn’t stall.
by the way, I just finished fixing a cracked head and head gasket with some K&W nanotechnology sealant. I flushed the system since then about 30 times.
Yesterday i got in a fight with a guy that knows where i live. This afternoon i went to put gas in my car and i noticed the gas cap was not closed all the way. But i always make sure is closed tight. So i took the car for a spin (2 city miles) then took it home and took out the gas filter (which was replaced 6 months ago) and took out the gas out of the filter, put it in a clean container and then put it in a water bottle. So now i got a sample of my gas. I inspected it and it does not feel like there is anything mixed with it. But im not even sure what pure gasoline looks like. So anyone got a description or a sample for me?
