Why must we use sodium hydroxide instead of sulfuric acid in making hydrogen gas?

When you make hydrogen gas commercially, you use a large steel vat as the mixing chamber. why must we use sodium hydroxide instead of sulfuric acid in this process?

What is the volume of 1M Hydrochloric acid will produce 32 of hydrogen gas at STP?

What volume (in L) of 1.00 M hydrochloric acid, when allowed to react with excess magnesium, will produce 32.5 L of hydrogen gas at STP?

I see all these inventions on U TUBE about running cars on water or other types of fuel cells, question Do they really work and why aren’t manufacturer’s getting into this for future cars?

How do I calculate the molar amount of hydrogen gas here?

I’m not looking for someone to give me the answer – I just need to know what to do.

“Using the balanced chemical equation you have, calculate the molar amount of hydrogen gas that was produced in your reaction.”

The equation: Mg + 2HCl –> H2 + MgCl2

Magnesium: 0.013 g; 5.3 x 10^ -4 mol

What do I do with all this?

is it possible to use water for fuel,if you seperate the oxygen from the hydrogen?
