boat engine problem oil pressure drops and boat seems like its runing hard and acts like its going to stall?

when i run my boat for a half hour i notice my oil pressure drops and my boat wants to stall out kindof like its miss firing or water in the gas i just had the whole cooling system changed last year,manifolds risers new heads,etc ,what do you think the problem is?its a mercruiser 260 i/o
also it sounds louder no knocking noise just louder ,could it be over heating?also the tubs that go from the block to the air filter thing i noticed were blackish shooting torward the airfilter thing.

My 1999 pontiac sunfire won’t start unless I press on the gas. Any idea of what’s going on?

I just bought this car yesterday, today being February 29, 2008. Already I’m having, what I’m hoping, are mild problems. The pipes in the back have some sort of black substance in them. I don’t know anything about cars. My boyfriend picked it out for me since he knows a whole lot more about cars than I do. Yesterday the odometoer read 141,000 miles. This morning I drove the car to work and it read 888888 for a short period of time, then it jumped back to 141,000. And we also noticed that the back pipes were leaking water. Is this good or bad? Will someone please tell me what’s going on with this crazy car!

On going issues with an old Ford 390fe?

Here’s what’s going on. The truck sat up for several months during which time water got in the fuel. When I finally got around to draining the tank and got it started the truck just wouldn’t idle and would miss/backfire going down the road (every once and a while it would act like it was running right). I replaced the carburetor with a new one, it had no effect. The truck ran the same. I replaced the spark plugs, the truck always ran rich and the plugs should have been black but they were tan. I replaced the cap and rotor (Ford duraspark ignition) with no change. I checked the vacuum, it was a little low (15inch)but the truck has a little bit of a cam. I checked the compression and the cyls were within 10 psi of each other. When I do get it to idle (the idle screw on the carb is almost all way in, (it should sound like a plane ready for take off) the motor runs around 800 rpm roughly. Every few seconds it hits like I’ve patted the throttle. I pulled plug wires and it seemed that every other cylinder had no effect on idle quality though they are getting fire. After checking all this could my troubles be in the brain box or distributor? It’s strange.

is my fuel pump going out?

i was getting ready to drive my 2000 chevy blazer today and it would turn over and not start soo i got out and banged on the gas tank while my dad turned it over and it started right up and then i got gas and drove it for about 50-60 miles and after i shut if off again it done the same thing and then i drove it for about 120 miles and after, it started right back up no problem and has been fine starting since then b-4 when it would’nt start i could’nt hear the pump come on thats what gave me the idea to hit the tank… i have replaced the pump about 60,000 miles ago with a used one could it be failing or just have water in it? i am VERY afraid to drive it i am only 16 and terrified to be stuck beside the road please help…..
well u see the thing is it seems fine now it starts right up and runs great! i am just afraid it is going to do that agin…

Taurus suddenly dies while driving, but starts right back up again. What’s going on?

I have a ’07 Ford Taurus, 6 cylinder. About a month ago, while driving it home from work, the engine suddenly–and I do mean suddenly!–died right on the road. The car lost power without any warning, all the engine lights came on, the steering wheel locked up, and even with putting the car in neutral I didn’t have enough time to coast all the way over to the shoulder of the road.

I turned the engine key to the off position, and then tried to start the engine up again. It worked right away (no stalling or hesitation), and I was able to drive the car as normal..until today The same exact thing happened, and the car started back immediately.

think i might be on my way to a completely blown head gasket,my coolent light was on so put water in the resavoir then popped the radiator cap off and started putting watter in it then started the engine i was sitting there waiting for the themostate to open and it isnt the waters just coming up and filling the over flow bottle so i think the thermostate is stuck closed, but thats not all heres why i think the head gaskets bout to blow when the water was just filling into the over flow bottle it was all white foam so what do u guys think?

90hp merc O/B-keeps dying out in the water, & prime collapses whats going on?

every time i take the boat out the same thing happens engine boggs down and dies, and the prime is collapes, i undo the gas line and prime pops up and the engine starts to work again for a min. I have to keep undoing the gas line to make it work. friend said it was the thunderbolt ignition?

95 dodge colt. Starts up fine but as your going it sometimes dies down in shots as you press the gas?

when I start the car the headlights flicker faintly and constantly but i dunno if this has anything to do with the car dieing down problem. When your going it will all of a sudden be as if you are pressing the gas and its just not going then come back. i did change a fuse for the radio when the cars accessories were on and it sparked but im in total confusion as to what this whole problem is? i was thinking maybe water or something else in gas tank? or the distributor, because i had just got it changed for a rebuilt one. and also when i start the car, but only on occasions it revs high like to 3000 then falls to like 2000 and just keeps jumping in between 1000 and 2000. i have to like shut off the car and start it like 10 times before it starts up at a normal rev.

please help-everything going wrong & very depressed-spending all my money but car still not running right–why?

I was looking at the CHEVY VOLT, but i want to know some other cars that are similar, gas only gets like less than 20% of it stored energy.
