97 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
While driving driver will experience a sudden and violent jerk followed by slight loss of power. Will jerk badly enough to make tires squeal, very violent and dangerous. Almost like you are slamming on the brakes but you’re not. Doesn’t die. Might happen multiple times.
It got progressively worse over week period. Changed oil, air, and fuel filter. Signs of water in gas — filter in bad shape.
Checked spark plugs and wires. 2 plugs were not tightened down completely.
Seemed to work a little better for a day. Noticed RPM’s were running high. Example: 1500 in park
Car was running pretty well previous to “new” problem.
Has 103000 miles, automatic transmission
ANY ideas??? Too broke to take to dealer!
Thanks!

I believe gas cars will be relics in 10 years. I’m rooting for hydrogen, or as in “Back to the Future”, the Fusion powered car, but that’s way down the road, IMO.

A couple days ago when we received some very cold weather ( I live in Canada), my truck had a hard time turning over, when it did, it ran for a bit then idled out when warming up. I restarted it again (after about 5 tries) and it seemed to be fine, minus some unusual shaking and clunking.
It got a little warmer the next day and ran fine (drove for about 80 kms) with no signs of issues.

It seems that you can convert your car to run on water as well as gasoline, thus saving money. I remembered a few years ago an automotive engineer friend from Japan telling me about it but no one seems to use it here until I saw this site.http://drive-water.com/
