I SMELL GAS WHEN DRIVING, AND IN HOT TEMPS MY CAR WILL STALL AND STOP?

NOW THAT THE WEATHER HAS CHANGED, MY CAR WILL RUN HOT NOW. WHEN I’M DRIVING OTHERS OFTEN SAY THEY SMELL GAS. THEN IF I DRIVING DISTANCE OF OVER 30 MILES, MY CAR WILL SHUT DOWN. FIRST IT WILL START WHEN I COME TO A STOP, AS I GIVE IT GAS, IT BARELY GOES ANYWHERE, THN IT JERKS UNTIL IT GOES A LITTLE DISTANCE, THN IT CUTS OFF. AT THAT POINT I WILL HEAR A SUCTION SOUND, AS IF LIQUIDS WHERE BEING OVERHEATED, UNDERNEATH MY CAR. SOMETIMES IT CONTINUES ON AND THN A COUPLE OF FT LATER…IT DOES THE SAME THING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 REPAIR SHOP FOR FIXING. ONE PLACE PUT MY CAR ON A MACHINE AND SAID IT WAS MY HORMONICAL BALANCE, IN WHICH HE FIXED…THE OTHER SAID IT WAS MY WATER BELT, IN WHICH HE FIXED. AND NOW AGAIN THAT IT’S WARMER WEATHER, MY CAR DOES IT AGAIN. IN THE WINTER TIME, I HAVE NO PROBLEM, BUT JUST AS SOON AS THE WARMER WEATHER COMES, IT SEEMS LIKE IT’S OVERHEATING TOO FAST. WHICH IS CAUSING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON NOW. IM A FEMALE AND I REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. TRUSTING THESE MECHANICS GETS ME NOWHERE. I NEED HELP. My 97″ Caddy Northstar smelll of gas under the hood when driving. Where can I look to start diagnosing?

The Cadillac sat for a week in very cold weather. Started it up heard a pop under the hood and check engine light came on. After driving a couple of days the light went off. Runs fine but with the slight smell of gas when running. I believe from pass experience there may have been some water in the gas line and froze. I put some gas line dryer the tank. How do I go about diagnosing where this leak is located? Or where is the leak. I must mention the starter was removed a couple of times in the last 1/2 year.

Truck’s hot hair blows cold when it idles or I let off the gas while driving?

1999 Olds Bravada AWD. 4.3L HO. Replaced the water pump for a similar problem two years ago, thermostat last year, had a problem with coolant leaking/over heating last winter, all problems have been solved, except why my trucks nniiiicceee hot air that blows while I’m driving, goes away when I let off the pedal, then comes back on as I get back up to speed, and doesn’t blow hot at all when it’s parked and idling?

Taurus suddenly dies while driving, but starts right back up again. What’s going on?

I have a ’07 Ford Taurus, 6 cylinder. About a month ago, while driving it home from work, the engine suddenly–and I do mean suddenly!–died right on the road. The car lost power without any warning, all the engine lights came on, the steering wheel locked up, and even with putting the car in neutral I didn’t have enough time to coast all the way over to the shoulder of the road.

I turned the engine key to the off position, and then tried to start the engine up again. It worked right away (no stalling or hesitation), and I was able to drive the car as normal..until today :( The same exact thing happened, and the car started back immediately.

My car needs some work. I’m driving the 2002 Pontiac Grand Pr ix. The motor is a 3800 Supercharged edition.

While driving the car will stop receiving fuel and not start back up for ten-fifteen minutes. I’ve replaced the ignition contol module and the 3 coil packs. The serviice engine light will only come on when its running like water is in the gas. I’ve been to autozone to diagnose the service engine light and he says its a fuel injector needing to be replaced. O.k . but aren’t there 5 more injectors? ” Y” so, why does the car continue to shut down? I dont want to waste alot of money. Anyone with suggstions please respond as definitive as u can with the information available . Battery is good, alternator is good, and if it was the fuel pump wouldnt that just go competeley out? This is been happening for close to 1 month and a half. Thank you in advance.

car uses too much water on long distance driving?

Hello there i have a Toyota car that uses too much water on 6 plus hours of driving,when i left home water tank was full when was in the middle of my journey temperature got high,but did nothing about it, i got to my destination and checked the car, water pump was empty, and open the radiator cap tank was also dry,so i was told by a friend because of long distance, then i filled up again, both the water tank and put some water in radiator and went back to my home, when arrived checked again and was empty, filled up again, but now i just use my car for driving around town and level water does not get empty, so i dont know if there is a problem with it i also sought advice from mechanic and was told the car should not use water at all, and was told to look for leaks but still cannot find nothing,i also would like to point on my journey there were up hill and down hills, please find attached car details * Make: TOYOTA

1996 Jeep Cherokee 2.5 L driving me nuts can you help?

I have a problem getting it to run. it has a new engine,radiator,water pump,harmonic balencer,fuel pump,crankshaft sensor, map sensor, fuel filter radiator hoses. fan belt, fan clutch, ignition switch, temp sensor, muffler & tail pipe. just to name a few items it ran good for the first few thousand miles. then it went into a spell it back fired & blew apart the muffler & blew off the top cover of the vacume canister. I reinstalled the diaprham spring & cover on the canister & replaced the muffler. then in less then 2 miles it backfired again and it blew of the canister cover & blew apart the muffler. then it would not start at all. the only way I am able to re-start it is to prime it, but it wont sray running unless I disconnect the vacume line that goes to the mapp sensor, it will stay running but it wont take a load. As soon as I plug in the vac. line to the mapp sensor it dies. any Ideas are much appriciated. thank’s for any HELP. Bill f. e-mail @ faraci3@verizon.net

1990 Lexus LS400 has no power when driving but has had major tune up, Raw fuel seem to be leaking into exhaust

1990 Lexus LS400 has had major tune up with plugs, wires, rotors, distributors, two ignitor coils (A & B) and two ignition modules, But the motor stills lacks any power it vibrates when you accell and when you start to go the trans gives a harder shift than before. When the car sits at idol it vibrates the same as if you were trying to drive it. It must have raw gas going down the exaust manifold because just in front of the catalitic converter on the passenger side it will turn the brightest red and very hot, I have taken the car to the shop for a diagnosic test but they are already telling me to fix this small vacuum valve on top of the intake manifold right on the front near the water jacket and hope that fixes what this the motor performance problem is, Hope he’s right , for this new info I’ve already paid out 375.00 USD this should be an easy fix . ( RIGHT!!!)
The plugs and wires were removed and replaced one at a time and the three cats on this car are all good.

Car spudders when idling but runs fine while driving?

Bought car of someone and didnt know it sat till i got the bill of sale with a date from 2 months ago. So i figure its been sitting for awhile. also it needed a new cam sensor so i put it in but it spudders so i added 5 gallons of new gas from the pump and a few bottles of fuel injector cleaner and dry gas to get any water out.

Stale gas?
Plugged injectors? (doubt it since it runs nice while driving)

car chocks when driving on streets or freeway?

engine light was on now its off,was told to check the gas cap for water ,to change gas was done ,still have problems thanks
