ss the gas it wont go.When i put it in neutral it drives. Im just trying to get an idea what this could be.Im leaving for vacation in less than 24 hours on a 6 hour drive! Im a nervous wreck! can anyone help?
ok so let me give more info…1999 dodge caravan..not sure what hose but i knew it was a hose cuz the engine was kinda splattered with wetness i guess..engine was smoking and car jerked. it kind of hesitated when i hit the gas. finally it started to drive but again with hesitation…got it to the gas sation and opened the hood to see i guess a wetness that looked like an explosion of fluid then under the van it was leaking too,,it looked as though it could have been rusty water on the ground..is this gunna be expensive??

I just got my boat back from having a rebuilt engine in it. I launched the boat and took it for a run, not opened up just enough to keep it on plane then backed off the throttle to cruise. It ran great for the first outing. I could hear a popping noise coming from the carb. I let off on the gas and it died, and wouldn’t turn over. I took it back to the marina and he told me the motor was cooked. He said that I must have let the throttle of quickly which caused water to enter the exhaust and into the motor, which in turn blew the motor. Is this possible or is he filling me with false info so he doesn’t have to replace the motor? I had the motor running for not even 3 hrs total.

I live pretty close to work, kind of within walking distance. Sometimes, I just don’t feel like walking so I drive. My car is still cold (on C) when I get to work- does this hurt my car? I don’t romp the gas or anything, but I take it easy. I hear this could build up moisture in the exhaust and potentially put a hole in it because of excessive water build-up which turns to rust.

I was with my friend and he was the driver.
He pulled in this gas station to pump gas into his car, went inside to buy me a smart water ,and ran into a friend of his on his way back into the car forgetting that the gas pump was still in ,and he drove off and it pulled the gas hose off , but looks as though it can be reattached.
I took pictures , and videos of the incident , but the gas station asked for his auto insurance identification telling him they are going to bill him $500 on his CAR INSURANCE , and it wasn’t a car accident it was just a gas pump blonde moment accident no jokes and the manager wasn’t even their to wait for to see if the pump could be fix another thing is the worker writing this up didn’t give the corporation telephone number , or the station id. They didn’t even know what that was, but another worker gave information. What do you do in a situation like this?

We just bought our first boat, a 19ft. open bow 1983 Bayliner Capri. I have never driven a boat and my husband is only a little more knowledgable than I am about boats. Can you give me step by step how to drive it once we get it in the water? He has gas-flooded it twice, so it’s my turn to try. Also any tips on boats would be greatly appreciated. Oh and this is for a small lake so I’m too worried about the crappy crafting of the boat. Thanks!!
Sorry, I meant I’m NOT too worried about the crafting of the boat!
It’s the original engine – Volvo 125HP I/O

I am 30 years old and Don’t quite get it. Not ignorant, went to school for law,not science. So people of yahoo, Why does a car need Gas to run, why not water and why can’t they use something else to make a car go so that we are not so reliant on one particular natural resource? Thanks in advance.
Wow, appleJuice, your one smart guy, I like the sound of all that knowledge.
Great answer, I just wish they would look at the long one picture and not just the here and now.

The reason why I ask this is because the damage from batteries which have been spent and are no longer usable damages the Earth much more than the strait gas engines do. Now the hydrogen fuel cells don’t have that pollution, but those kind of batteries aren’t what they use.
