fuel cells and water hydrogen for cars?

I see all these inventions on U TUBE about running cars on water or other types of fuel cells, question Do they really work and why aren’t manufacturer’s getting into this for future cars?

Is the water from Hydrogen fuel cells potable? Can I drink it?

I’ve seen the diagrams for the Hydrogen fuel cells where the filter keeps the electrons out, generating electricity and the by-product is H20. Is it just me or would this be the cleanest, purest water available? It’s been filtered at the molecular level. Nothing bottled in any glacier lake could beat that. Am i mistaken?

If we convert to water fuel cells to produce hydrogen power, what will happen to people currently fed by OPEC?

I don’t know why polititians keep touting alcohol fuel. It still requires oil to make the alcohol & doesn’t change how much money is being taken by OPEC.
Hydrogen fuel is infinitely more practical than corn alcolhol. As is shown in the Larsen engine http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8507662210221625210&q=hydrogen&hl=en and in the Joe cell http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9146267788802951734&q=hydrogen&hl=en we now have the ability to 100% eliminate our need for petroleum for running our engines. While this overcomes our need for foreign oil and will clean our air, it is still a highly disruptive technology. It won’t hurt my feelings if the money flow going to the oil companies gets reduced. BUT what will become of the millions of people who are currently able to eat each day because of those petroleum dollars? We need to have a little conscience in this matter. What provisions can we make to be sure the people being fed by oil money continue to eat each day

Are fuel cells truly an environmental “free pass”?

People point to fuel cells as the way to a pollution free, greenhouse gas-free future for cars, because a fuel cell’s main by-product is water vapor.

But there are sufficient cars today to emit enough gases to change the climate, cause smog etc. What would happen at some point in the future if similar numbers of fuel-cell powered cars were all emitting water vapor? Would the climate become wetter? Would all those fuel cells make the air more humid or make it rain more? Might the resulting clouds affect heat retention and thus global warming?

why is hydrogen fuel cells not mandatory in all new vehicles?

surely this would make sense as the hydrogen fuel cell creates only water vapor as its waste product and the production of hydrogen costs no more then production of petrol/gas via the refinement of crude oil. As such it would cost no more to fuel you car with hydrogen then it would to fuel it with petrol/gas.

Furthermore, the oil production companies would not be losing out if they changed from the refinement of crude oil to the production of hydrogen. the Fuel companies would not lose out either as hydrogen costs the same as petrol/gas.
