situation has happened 4 times in 6months, fuel tank has had 1/2 tank or more. driving along at any speed. car becomes “sluggish” increasing accelerator does not result in acceleration. car slows, depressing accel. does nothing, response is flat. eventually car comes to a stop. Engine still runs and now service engine soon light comes on. attempts to accelerate engine dont work. engine quits. will almost start, or does start but will only idle. depressing accel. causes stall. Let car sit for 15 min to overnight and starts up and is “normal” (accelerates, drives, idles etc.). I had the fuel filter changed the first time it happened. The same time and every time there after I have disconnected the fuel line at its entery to eng. compartment and collected fuel to visually look for water, dirt etc. abundent fuel when engine is cranked, fuel is free of water/dirt. Ideas?
Thanks for the replies. Gearnofear, do you mean that I can determine the code by following the key “on off” sequence and then counting the flashes, and I don’t need a code reader to determine the code? I understand that I will need someone to interpret the code once I have it, though. thanks.
I just read several testamonials on kits that convert your auto fuel from totally being water to both water and gas. Frankly, I find it hard to believe. They don”t tell you where to go to have such a thing installed. They seem to just want to sell these so called kits. Anyone have experiance with it.?
Are there any other alternatives other than gasoline besides: a bike or walking? Paying $3.00 a gallon is outrageous. I know americans are spoiled but we drive more than most countries, why shouldn’t we have more effiecient vehicels? Where are the alternative vehicles? Why did the electric/solor/hydrogen cars disappear?
