Do marine repair mechanics typically NOT reconnect the fuel line prior to returning a boat?

I brought my outboard in for some minor maintenance. Upon its return I went to have a day on the water. The motor would not start. The fuel line was inserted into the motor but not reconnected. I was told this is standard practice at this location.

Not a big deal – just some wasted time etc.

You should have asked them is it standard practice not to tell the paying customer this or is it they have an unlimited customer base so they can screw up like this all the time and stay in business

G’day Defiantly never go to that mechanical disaster area again,
That idiot put your life in danger as well as anyone who came into the explosive area of your boat, Definitely report his gross incompetence to your motor supplier as well as the local fire authorities, this is serious I have never personally came into this situation of gross incompetence. If I ever had I would have awarded to that fool the order of rule 303. & there would be no court in any land that would prosecute me for it. Angry yes very I tend to get this way when I come across idiots who put hundred of lives at risk depending of the circumstances at the time or place. I know it has happened before & it will happen again as long as incompetent persons do not take due action to make sure that it never happens again. I am not upset by you as you were obviously not happy with the false don’t give a dam information you received. For that you are to be strongly commended & I thank you there are to few people that check their sources of misinformation thank you,. Now please print this & take it to your local fire authority & let them follow up on necessary action,
You have a good day & best of luck Neil.
