I don’t know, but it might be a bitch if you got in a major accident.

yes, but it lacks a distribution system and you have to produce the hydrogen which requires some energy (perhaps nuclear), so dont expect to seem them available for masses for some time.

Hydrogen cells are a reality and they do work. The combustion byproduct is pure water that can be used to produce more fuel.

The critical question is a simple one – where does all the hydrogen come from? Hydrogen does not naturally exist. It has to be manufactured from chemical compounds that contain hydrogen (water, natural gas, OIL). This process will require lots of energy!!! It is not at all clear whether this process will be ‘energy efficient’. (Which is why in virtually every newspaper article, news story, etc. on hydrogen you do not see ‘its source’ discussed!)

Best wishes.

You are a smart person.

Clearly people do not see this. I’ve stated this over and over again. Where do we get all our energy from. Going back far enough it comes down to either
1. Fossil Fuel 95%
2. Nuclear 4%
3. Solar and Wind 1%

Only places we can get energy from. All other sources end up at one of the 3 above. Hydrogen fuel still requires A LOT of energy to split the hydrogen apart. People have the BIG misconception that we can power our cars with water. NO people, what happened to basic chemistry? Are people really that stupid? If water contained that much energy as gasoline, would it be safe to drink? Where is the common sense?

It’s an enormous amount of work to separate the hydrogen. Not to mention the energy lost from burning the fossil fuel to generate the hydrogen.

I’ve heard estimate from people who say it takes 10 gallons of gasoline to generate a one gallon equivalent of hydrogen. (which gets you the same distance as 1 gallon of gasoline)
Now people use some intelligence, why are you burning 10 gallons of gasoline to get you one? Do we just like wasting 9 gallons of fuel?
