2000 dodge dacota V8 RT fuel problems?

ok well it all started with the truck stated to do a sudden hard lag every once in a while, then i was at a stop light and it is cut off. i went to start it again and it ran REALLY rough then finally it just was fine. this is the second day to do this. It first did it on empty so i though that maybe there was some trash at the bottom of the tank. added some gas later that day it was fine till the next day.
Then i thought that i maybe had some water in my gass so i added heet to it. it started right up and ran for about 2 min them just shut off again. now it will not start like it is not gettin fuel. it is turning over. could it be the fuel pump? or the injectors?
